PATRON

St.Britto was a Jesuit Priest , who came to India in 1673 and preached Christianity in the southern part of Tamilnadu . Our school has been named after St.John De Britto, who propagated the faith of Christ and sacrificed his life for the cause of justice and love.

St.Britto HSS has brought a revolution in the history of education in Madurai . Our school imparts educational values and taps the talents to the students and makes them academically strong , physically and mentally fit to lead a successful life.

The year was 1968.His excellency Rev.Dr.Justin Diraviam JUD,the Arch Bishop of Madurai diocese sowed the seed of social conciousness of St.Britto to the society. St.Britto High School was established with 475 students. Rev.Fr.T.A.Soosai took charge of the correspondent. As the time rolled on the strength of the school grow and so did its reputation. The need for higher education rose and the school was on the upgrade in 1977 and was christened “ST.BRITTO HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL” . St.Britto Hss is located near the Arapalayam Bus stand at Gnanolivupuram,Madurai,Tamil Nadu.
